TGC-2 calculates the fire risks

The fire auditors from the Fire Safety Agency have begun the survey at the Novgorod TPP (in the city of Veliky Novgorod) with the aim of drafting a fire safety declaration. The Thermal Power Plant provides energy to about a quarter of the region's population and is the major supplier of thermal energy for the factory “Akron”
The new combined steam-gas plant (COSAG-210), which will increase the power output of the TPP up to 350 MW, can not be put into operation without declaring the fire safety of the facility. Since the COSAG generates power from the fuel, i.e. combustible material, thise is the most fire hazardous device in the TPP.
The experts from the Fire Safety Agency points out the in accordance with the regulations “On the Fire Safety Requirements” the fire risk to the facility should not exceed 10-6 (ten to the minus sixth power), that is, in a million workers a year, perhaps no more than one death per year in case of fire.
In 2010-2011 the LLC “Fire Safety Agency” has carried out a series of works at power facilities in Russia, including Shaturskaya power plant, "Ivanovo PGU", South-West TPP, Surgut DSPP-2.
