Sergey Plastinin

Sergey Nikolaevich Plastinin was born on the 4th of October, in 1960 in the city of Pushkin, Leningrad Oblast in the family of a naval officer. He is a graduate of Leningrad sports magnet school. At the age of 13 years old he won gold at Russia’s junior league swimming championship. In 1977, he was admitted into Higher Naval College.
He put in over 20 years of service at Northern fleet’s nuclear subs. In 1988, he acquired a second college degree with a major in “military and administrative management” at Kuznetzov Naval Academy. He retired his commission with the Northern fleet in 2006 and took up the invitation of the founder and president of GCE Group Alexander Moskalenko to become the director of GCE Energy. He is an avid hunter and fisherman. He is a married man and has a grown-up son.

Since childhood, he dreamed of the high seas, and made his dream come true by going to naval engineering officer college. He served with the Pacific fleet. Later he taught future naval officers the theoretical foundations of ship power units. He authored a number of textbooks and teaching aids. These last 10 years he manages all GCE Energy projects in energy audit of manufacturing and power plants: from strategy development to implementation of energy efficiency projects.
He spends all his free time with wife and daughters. He plans to build a country house in the immediate future to have a refuge from the hustle and bustle of the megalopolis. He has lately developed an interest in the history of ancient Russia, and that informs his choice of books to read and exhibitions to visit.
